Hello Everyone!!
My name is Taylour D. Jackson and I am the founder of First Born Doula Services. I am just a girl from Detroit who has had quite a colorful journey throughout my life so far. I went to college at North Carolina A&T State University where I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. I also became certified in Phlebotomy from Phlebotomy Express Training Center LLC. I am a barber who loves to make people happy and healthy.
My Inspiration
It hurts my heart how the medial system act as if a birth always needs medical attention. Birth is a natural event that may need some medical assistance every now and then. Birth, babies, and pregnancy has always been a topic that I found myself researching. It brings me joy to help people and I find much passion to make sure people have a voice with their experiences during such a special time in their lives like pregnancy and birth no matter which route is taken.
I want to help young black woman who are bringing life into this world one at a time.
Black women are three to four times more likely to experience a pregnancy-related death than white women.
Black women are more likely to experience preventable maternal death compared with white women.
Black women’s heightened risk of pregnancy-related death spans income and education levels

Mission Statement
Bridge the gap between our community and medical system for black women who are grounded, care-free, and demand power over their bodies. I plan to be a helping hand for you by offering support to encourage you to voice your concerns. Sometimes emergencies come up but we will be beyond prepared if we are faced with a surprise.
